Kindness

Hey guys, it’s Bob again!

After several years working with clients in retail and consumer goods, I get it…it’s 4th quarter. Everyone, and I mean everyone, is beyond busy.

Your workdays have stretched to 10 or 12 hours. You are constantly thinking about work. “Did we hit our numbers for the day?” “How is production?” “Are we getting stuff to the stores fast enough?”

That’s 4th quarter…

After that 12-hour day, you go home, cook dinner, clean, do laundry, get the kids to their activities, walk the dog, and feed the cat. If you’re lucky, you might get a few minutes with your spouse or partner. You fall into bed, and at 5 am, the madness starts all over again.

Then there’s the planning for 2020—budget meetings, strategy, goal setting…

It’s 4th quarter…

Self-care books and social media posts seem to have all of the answers. Take 3 deep breaths. Take a walk away from your desk. Exercise. Do yoga. Sleep. Meditate. All of these things are GREAT, but I’d like to offer another stress reliever.

My go-to, fix all…

Kindness.

The best part of my day is when I do something kind for someone else. It brings me into the moment and gives me perspective. There are so many opportunities to be kind: the lunchroom, in the warehouse, at the store, paying it forward in the drive-thru. Doing kind things for others takes me away from the busyness and the stress.

And we can all use a little bit of that…
